About our Pigs:
Our pigs are sourced from The Highland Croft, a picturesque, family-run farm nestled on fifty acres of mountainside in beautiful Preston County, WV. Run by a dedicated husband-and-wife duo, The Highland Croft is not only their home but a sanctuary for naturally grown, healthy, and happy animals. Their hogs are raised on rich woodland pastures, ensuring the highest quality and flavor in every bite. At The Highland Croft, they take pride in producing animals with care, resulting in a premium pork product that reflects their commitment to ethical and sustainable farming. Their pigs are well-suited to our mountainous, cold environment, and thrive on foraging in the forest. These pigs mature to market weight between 5 and 6 months, producing meat of superior quality that's well-marbled, tender, and flavorful. Pasture and forest-raised pork have higher levels of protein, Vitamin E, and healthier omega-3 fatty acids than traditionally raised pork. They also have higher levels of Vitamin D in the lard from being out in the sunshine.
