Lisa and her husband, Ron, grew up as city kids in New York and New Jersey. They married in 2003 and relocated to Delaware, where they settled into their corporate America jobs but longed to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in the farming community.
In 2014, with three children and a yearning for more land, they moved to a property with three acres and acquired their first set of chickens. Three chickens quickly multiplied to 40, accompanied by the establishment of a full-size garden and the introduction of honey bees.

One day, during a visit to a working dairy farm, they realized that this was what they desired – a working farm with pigs, goats, chickens, and all that comes with it. So, after 19 years, they packed their family, chickens, and bees, and relocated to West Virginia, and Cherry Acre Farms was born.

Premium Farm-to-Table Offerings
We specialize in raising Berkshire Pigs—ideal for family farms with their friendly temperament, well-suited for West Virginia's mountainous environment. Our Berkshire pork is known for its juicy, flavorful, and tender qualities, often referred to as Kurobuta pork in Japan, comparable to wagyu for beef.

Elevating our selection beyond just pork and goat, we proudly introduce our Cornish Cross pasture-raised whole chickens. Nourished with the utmost care, these chickens feast on the highest quality feed and are rotated to lush new grass daily. Prepare your palate for a culinary revelation because once you savor the freshness of our chicken, the notion of returning to ordinary, big box store varieties will become a distant memory.

We are also raising milk goats which can be a rewarding endeavor, offering a range of benefits. On our farm we have Nubians: known for their long, floppy ears and a distinctive Roman nose. They produces milk with a high butterfat content and adaptable to various climates. We also have Saanen: typically all white in color with upright ears.Known for high milk production and a calm temperament. Well-suited for dairy farming.

Our Jersey Cows can produce up to eight gallons of rich and creamy raw milk everyday. This is ideal for the highest-quality dairy products such as cheese, butter, whipped cream, and yogurt.

Cherry Acre Farms also produces handmade goat milk and raw milk soap in a variety of scents.
